When creating a product you can define up to 3 units and coefficients for it:
- sales unit and coefficient - describes what exactly is sold when customer orders “1” - e.g. if the product label is defined as “6 x water carry-pack” then customer ordering “1 product” is in fact ordering 1 pack of 6 bottles,
- packaging unit and coefficient - describes how many products are in 1 sales unit - e.g. 6 bottles in one pack,
- capacity unit and coefficient - used only for liquids to specify the volume of exactly one packaging unit.
Why define units?
It is not required to define any units, even sales unit. If you do not provide anything the system will automatically assume “1 piece”.
However adding sales unit may be required to correctly define other configuration like delivery costs, free shipping etc.
Packaging unit may be useful to present to customer (hotel) additional recalculated price. From the customer (hotel) perspective there are 3 prices displayed in Astore Shop:
- offer price defined in the offer by supplier
- price per 1 quantity of sales unit
- price per 1 quantity of packaging unit
Examples
If we will choose for our example steak meat that is define as “1 tray of 10 steak of 0,280 kg / piece” that costs 56,00 € then in our product offer information in Astore Shop you will see:
- offer price for this product (10 pieces) is 56,00 €
- price for a packaging unit is 20,00 € per Kilo
- price for a selling unit is 5,60 € per Piece of meat
